We've eaten here many times over the last 10 years but we haven't been for for a few years now. The food and setting is beautiful. If anything the staff have changed since our last visit and we found him a little bit hard to communicate with.

The service was poor, disjointed and none of the staff spoke English, even though the menu was in English. I had Cannelloni to start, then lamb shoulder which was nice, but my wife had Beef Wellington, the meat was poor quality and very chewy. The restaurant had a pianist, but the music was ridiculously loud, we asked the staff if they could turn it down, but it was still far to loud, l couldn’t even talk or hear my wife. The restaurant was trying, but poor on staff, food and atmosphere.

Although this restaurant is tucked away it was well worth the 10 euro taxi ride from our hotel. The ambiance is warm and inviting added to by the incredible lighting and decor. The menus are back lit which makes them easy to read. The food quality is excellent albeit a tad expensive. On the night we were there it was not well attended so lacked atmosphere. The service was good and I would certainly say give this one a chance. I paid 250 euro for two meals of which the wine was approx 80euro.

The ambience is pleasant and the staff were lovely. However the crab was obviously frozen and served with a poor mayonnaise, and slightly off caviar. The artichoke heart was tinned, and tasteless. The beef cheek was good, but tasteless, and served with a very plain mashed potatoes. The lamb was good. The stir fried vegetables that came with the main course poor; greasy and overcooked. Whilst the meal sounded great and was well/ interestingly presented they were hugely overpriced for what was finally produced. A great shame.
