Description

Oak Apple is a small boutique wine bar located upstairs above The Good Room Cafe, serving an innovative and eclectic small plate dining experience featuring local Irish food bursting with flavor. We offer a variety of dishes that are small enough to taste multiple plates and large enough to share. Our focus is on a carefully curated wine list, with many organic options available by the glass or the bottle. In addition to wine, we also serve a selection of craft beers, ales, and ciders from around the country, including favorites like Treaty City. Come visit this hidden gem in the historic building in Adare, once a tobacco factory.

We love Oak and apple, but service is always a problem, we were served by a pleasant young lady who did not bring water with the menus or write our orders down, said she did not need to as she had worked there a long time, so one dish we ordered was not even available we found out later and one of the starters arrived was wrong, the wine arrived before the water and the bread arrived half way through the meal, it was not a particularly busy night. Rule of service in a restaurant is menus water and bread, then the table is happy, and please have a note pad it's so important.

Booked on open table recieved 2 email confirmations and a text on the actual day, saying text back 1 to confirm or 9 to cancel. Texted back 1. Arrived at Oak and Apple to find it in darkness and closed! Tried calling the number, no answer, left voicemail, no reply. Terrible.

The food was excellent. However it was very quiet for a Friday night (only 3 tables seated at 8:30) and despite accepting an 8:30 booking, when we asked for the dessert menu after our main course we were told the kitchen was closed for dessert and they had not notified us in advance.
