The food is tasty and the value for what you get is also fine. Prices are normal and service is friendly. They offer local food as well as pizza. It was a nice evening, only the wine offer in bottles and the availability of the once in the menu could be improved. But that is easy to fix.
Honestly one of the best experiences in fine dining in the German speaking world. Having been to numerous Michelin starred restaurants in Switzerland, Austria and Sud Tyrol this was one of our favorites. The couple Johannes and Lilit, are caring and the food is lovely. We will definitely be back. They also made sure our grumpy 6 year old was well taken care of. Top notch ingredients and service.
I had high hopes for this restaurant but unfortunately it was a big let down. If they can't demonstate their craft within the first few minutes, my mood takes a dive and it's difficult to recover from that. Personally, I couldn't really justify the 2 star rating for this restaurant. May be 1star more the mark. My taste buds really didn't stimulate, ingrediants didn't seem to blend well as normally I could discern the unique tastes of each ingredient in a dish if matched well. There was no theatre with the food presentation, clearing plates between courses took too long, staff passion didn't seem to be there, little to no personal touch they lacked finesse. I noticed that another reviewer had mentioned about the Brie dish being bland and a bit of a joke, 6 months ago. I said pretty much the same to Lilit, but it looks like they had made NO effort to rectify it. The promised audience with the owner/head chef Johannes didn't eventuate. Service felt too practised and not natural. Wine when ordered by the glass cost €36. Cost/glass is about right for a good wine, but the volume of approx 3 sips was very stingy. They even allowed a guest with a dog to dine with us in a 2 star restaurant?? I have been to multiple Michelin restaurants in many parts of the world that were significantly better, but this was far from a memorable cullinery experience for me. I did a more detailed review on FB covering 12 key facets where the overall score was 4.5/10. Note that above is my personal assessment/view it's fair to say it's subjective.
There’s only one word to describe this place: spectacular. Family run, exquisite food, great atmosphere, spectacular building. Exceptional service. The service was so friendly and heartwarming, adds such a depth to the experience when you learn about the family and restaurant background. We can only hope to be back!
