Quite hard to find, but with a good car park nearby, this lovely restaurant is well worth the effort. You will need to brave the pavement reconstruction work outside, but once in the restaurant, the food is lovely. Best meal we've had in about 2 years! Terrific quality, great service and priced for special evenings rather than grab-a-bite, RED is highly recommended. We would never have thought to go there on our own,... View all feedback.
We went out dining in restaurant Red. It was worth the walk because it's a little bit out of the city center. We took the 4 course surprise menu. Only 44 euro for 4 courses! That's a fair price. We drunk two bottles of wine (red and white). Also the wine was very Nice and not expensive at all. What about the food ? Nice combination of fusion influences. Nothing very special but excellent food. Also the staff was really friendly and tried to help us out in English.
Our favourite place in central Aachen for a great evening of high quality dining and if we are looking for sth more formal. Interesting, diverse menu, good wines and fiendly service. Love the Thursday "Probe" sessions where the chef surprises you with small portions of everything on the menu for a very reasonable price.

We would never have thought to go there on our own, but were invited to a larger gathering. We are both keen to return.
I was the house guest of two locals and when I told them I wanted to take them out to dinner I said take me to one of your favorite places. This how we came to eat at Red. We were there on Wednesday which is the only night they only offer a fixed price 5 course menu each paired with a different wine. I will start with wow, wow incredible. The hostess, Marion, was as good as the meal. She was gracious, spoke great English and very accommodating. Each of the 5 courses we had were fabulous, the menu had extensive descriptions of each wine (in German) and Marion described the menu to me. We were unanimous in our assessment that the food, wines, and service could not have been any better. This is a place to try, don't miss it!!!!
I went here last week on a work trip with several colleagues. We asked the hostess about a local drink which has Prosecco and a liqueur and sparkling water in it. She suggested her favorite drink, which she said was more refreshing. It was a mixture of prosecco and some grapefruit liqueur. It was delicious! Great recommendations also followed for food. On Thursdays, they have "small plates" where you can order 4, 6, 8 or 12 small portions of regular menu items. They're served in courses, and they are amazing! We each ordered 6 small plates and were happy with everything we tried. A few standouts were the the **** Mary Espuma with grilled prawns (which were actually very small shrimp, but it might have just been the translation) and a risotto with octopus and cashews. Really lovely place; excellent food, great service and a great vibe. Will definitely return next time I'm in town.
