I had the Witch's Egg Hamburg with a coffee set. They provide a knife and fork, but the fork is narrow and makes it difficult to eat. It would be nice if they also provided a spoon. We entered around 3 pm after viewing the cherry blossoms. It was constantly busy with customers coming in, so the limited space inside the restaurant might be a concern during the pandemic.
This is a café in Iwanuma City, where you can enjoy generous Western-style meals with a "neighborhood café" vibe. The menu offers classic dishes with a homely taste. The macaroni gratin, for example, appears to be a regular gratin but contains stir-fried ingredients similar to a Neapolitan pasta, which is quite innovative. It goes really well with the cheese. Desserts like cakes, pancakes, and parfaits are also reasonably priced and satisfying. The atmosphere inside is friendly and welcoming, with a mix of regulars and familiar faces from different generations, giving it a strong sense of being rooted in the local community. The service is also warm and welcoming.
I heard that this restaurant has been in business for over 40 years. When it first opened, it attracted a lot of attention as there were no other stylish shops in the area at the time. The handmade sign placed in front of the store has a nostalgic charm, reminiscent of bygone days. Feeling a bit flustered, I was guided inside, where I noticed that most of the customers were women. Being naturally shy, I felt a bit out of place and regretted coming to such a place.
