If you don't like Kamaishi ramen, I recommend trying the ramen here. It is the only place in Kamaishi that offers soup made with special soy sauce and Hichinohe chicken. They offer free upsizing of noodles and half rice, showing that they are making an effort to please their customers. The restaurant is clean, with dividers in place for infection prevention. The charred pork ramen is delicious. View all feedback.
This ramen restaurant is located relatively close to the highway exit, next to a drugstore, so it has a spacious parking lot. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and the raised tatami seating area was bustling with families. Even though several tables were in use, I was able to enter without waiting around 12:40. Wait, the extra noodles are free? Haha, then I'll have the "extra noodles" without hesitation! I decided on the extra-spicy charred soy sauce ramen with a side of small rice within budget, which was a delightful surprise. There was nori and egg sprinkle on the table, so I tried it with half rice—yum! Although it looks spicy, it's not as hot as expected—probably not satisfying enough for those looking for a challenge. I also ordered a kids' half-fried rice (there were two options) and had a taste myself—such a nostalgic flavor, haha. It seems you can order a set of mini bowl and dumplings with noodles, but not as separate items. There are kids' plates, bowls, and spoons available, and with the tatami seating, it's convenient for families to dine here. The soy sauce ramen and fried rice have a comforting, familiar taste that makes you keep reaching for the chopsticks, and the prices are reasonable. After a meal, you can get coffee at the nearby drugstore, haha. By the way, on the way there, there's also a "Kappa Sushi" that has recently reopened successfully!
I tried the grilled soy sauce ramen. The broth on top of the seaweed is probably dashi made from dried fish. I should have melted it before drinking the soup, but I mixed it first. It was a mistake, but it was delicious. The portion size of the noodles is on the smaller side, suitable for women to eat comfortably. For men, I recommend getting a larger size or adding rice for free if you order the grilled soy sauce ramen. If I ever go back to the area, I would like to visit again.
