A must-see place when you're nice. since 1920, it is a tradition for some to come to relax in this place! enjoy a good cocktail made by the barman mike and then the dream team to welcome you. and stick a good belly flower and others! View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Ruhl Plage:
setting of the magnificent restaurant d or the 2 stars, for the rest we will iron . long time for service , no water carafe , no bread despite our requests . the dish was bof , the doughs in the lobster were sticky , I just hold the opening by the cook from there lobsters to decorate easily ! expensive for quality and there quantity, we pay the frame . damage that the rating of azur does not make any effort at this l... It's so sad when your favourite place can't keep up with the competition. Ruhl Plage has cut corners, less waiters, menu not changed/improved. Still, it's good for a drink in the afternoon or for beach. It seems that adjacent Le Galet is the new "king" on the beach.
Nice its Nice the beach is a beach.
We wanted to eat and have enjoy a private beach but would not ever return. The food is incredibly overpriced, the drinks are not well made and the staff is blase at best and aggressive at worst. The hostess literally tries to talk you out of booking a table and eating in the restaurant and encourages you to order your food to the beach chairs (20 euros for the chair, 8 for the much needed towel and ten more for an umbrella that they may or may not allow you to put up if they decide it's too windy). We had to ask three times for a waiter as most seem to be teenaged summer staff who don't always speak French or English well. We had to witness a very unpleasant confrontation between a family of three whose chair rentals were taken over by loud and aggressive couples. The staff did little to intervene and I worried that it would get physical. Even when I spoke up that the family had rented the chairs, the staff did not believe them and 'solved' the issue by plopping other loungers in the aisle-way. Management is absent and could have been used in this case. Such an unpleasant experience that we paid a couple of hundred euros for (chairs, two drinks, water, salads and a fruit tray). The private beaches in Nice are worth the extra money as what goes on in the public ones is not fit for human consumption.
I called prior to this to make a reservation, where everywhere on the website and on the phone said it was reversation only, which is completely fine if they stuck to this. We arrived at 10am on a Wednesday in July, where it was fully booked. However, the 2 people in front of us were French and they both had bookings? Not fair at all. We decided to come to the restaurant for lunch, where the waiter was extremely rude and rolled her eyes at us when we said we just wanted snacks there. Which they had previously said it’s fine) FYI- if you’re visiting in the summer, get there at 9am otherwise you are not getting a bed! Or if you’re English!
