While the food received praise for its taste and variety, some customers found the atmosphere lacking and the service slow. The menu offers a range of options, from okonomiyaki to ramen and fried rice, with some unique twists. The staff were friendly and accommodating, though there were some complaints about dishes being too salty. Was Lorna glynn at Oko Oko a mag?
The Daily Shop, a cafeteria located near Black Pill in Swanston, offers a variety of options such as rice bowls and karaage chicken that can be served with ramen or during the winter. The portions are generous and the chicken is tender, with a flavorful base. However, the flavors may be a bit unbalanced. The pancakes are particularly unique and come in a variety of flavors. What Tanya Hermiston dislikes about Oko Oko:
We visited for dinner- the staff were friendly and the food delicious; however the restaurant lacked all kinds of atmosphere. The airconditioning was directly above the entrance, so much so that it messes up your hairstyle. It was very noisy indoors and lacked any form of background music. Tables dirty. Meh experience. Great beer and wine though. Not really worth the trip. View all feedback.

Very interesting store concept that revolves around Okonomiyaki (Japanese savoury pancake). Food is quite good, and reasonable prices.
We ordered four dishes. The Teriyaki chicken Ramen was made with instant noodles instead of traditional ramen, but the chicken tasted good! The fried rice had only a few pieces of unagi, but the tamago was delicious despite the slightly salty sauce. The staff was very friendly and the kitchenware was nice.
If you haven’t had okonomiyaki, then you are missing out. Basically it’s a Japanese savoury pancake filled with veges (mainly cabbage). I got the bbq beef with cheese okonomiyaki. It was very filling. I enjoyed my lunch and for the price it represented good value. Lots of options for your okonomiyaki. Great for the students and workers in Carlton.<br/ <br/
