Monomyth Coffee - Lubbock
Monomyth Coffee
Description
A lively campus café pairs craft espresso and standout pastries in a cozy, modern setting. Expert pours and silky microfoam sit alongside inventive offerings like a cold-brew cola and beloved kolache and churro bun. Service is often warm and welcoming, and the pastry case feels homemade. Some patrons note inconsistency—particularly a weak cold brew and uneven espresso depth—so expect hits and occasional misses. Street parking and a fresh, friendly atmosphere make it a convenient, popular stop for students and locals seeking quality coffee and baked goods.

The coffee was not good. I got a cold brew and my buddy got The Spring. The cold brew tasted like smokey water and was very transparent. Cold brew should be brewed very strongly and using dark beans. They do not brew strong enough (as evidenced by the transparency of the drink itself), and the barista informed me that they do not use dark beans. The Spring is a mixture of ginger beer and cold brew. Ginger beer is far too flavorful to be paired with their weak cold brew.
Wowzers! Yes! I was able to order my favorite, Chai Tea with Oat milk, and then they made it dirty, damn, and delicious ? ? It felt as if I were drinking a cup of love. Thank you, I tried to make the review match the love amount not sure if I did.Namaste????? ?
I found a nice café near the campus that serves traditional espresso drinks and seemingly homemade pastries. Although I didn’t sample the food, the pastry display was quite appealing. Street parking was available, and I had no trouble finding a spot on a Sunday morning. The café itself was very clean and had a modern, fresh vibe. I ordered an iced Americano, which was acceptable, but I expected more depth in the espresso flavors since they promote themselves as a craft shop using their own beans. I would have appreciated more expertise from the baristas regarding their espresso options, but they seemed a bit uninterested and unsure. Overall, it's decent coffee for West Texas, but I may explore other cafés during the rest of my trip.
