It is a cliché, repeated so often (mainly by Northerners) that it has almost become an accepted fact, that there are no decent fish and chip shops in London. as others have said, it used to be a good restaurant. I remember taking customers there for lunch. you had to book. that's history. I fought with woman for lunch because I was looking for somewhere where I could have both oysters and doversoles. the oysters were served on an oyster plate without crushed ice. they were warm. not a proper vinaiigrette, but an industrial bottle tabasco. the doversol was both overcooked...
