Starting with coat room the staff is so friendly, accommodating and helpful. We attended a company holiday event in the beautiful lounge. The food was lovely to look at and even better to eat. I have now also enjoyed the Parsnip for my birthday. It was a lovely experience, near the fireplace and their decorated tree. Love it! View all feedback.
What Frederick Bosco dislikes about Parsnip Restaurant:
The room is beautiful and elegant, the service was great, the food was just ok and expensive. This was our second time. The first, about a year ago, the food was fabulous. They had no non-alcoholic cocktails on the menu. We asked the bartender to make one for us and it was terrible. View all feedback.
The food was excellent; both my companion and I enjoyed our entrees. Initially we shared a salad, but we had to use our bread plates. Knowing that it was to be shared, we should have been given two extra salad plates. Minor slip.
Expensive, noisy, portions were very small for the price, pasta special was bland.
Excellent food, good service, but was a very busy Saturday, and server a bit overwhelmed. Great place for special occasions.
Parsnip is a fantastic restaurant located in the heart of Harvard Square, offering delicious food and cocktails in a classy environment. Formerly known as Upstairs On the Square, Parsnip surprised me with its excellent dining experience. The atmosphere is elegant and upscale, the food is a blend of French, Italian, and Asian influences, and the service is laid back. The standout dish of the night was the roasted carrots, with its various textures and well-balanced flavors. Other dishes, such as the Eggplant Agedashi and hand rolled Capunti pasta, were also delicious and comforting. The main courses of Rohan Duck and Smoked Gnocchi were outstanding as well. Desserts were decent but not as impressive as the savory dishes. Overall, Parsnip has the potential to be a brilliant dining spot and I look forward to returning.
We visited the restaurant on a Monday night and found it to be relatively empty. The food was delicious, and the overall atmosphere was fantastic. The cocktails were enjoyable as well. However, we felt that the service could have been more attentive. It seemed to be a slower day for the restaurant, and we were hoping for quicker and more attentive service. Despite this, we would consider returning on a different day.
