Description

Caffe Mauro has mixed reviews, with some customers expressing frustration over their delivery system while others praise their delicious sandwiches. The restaurant offers exquisite focaccia sandwiches with top-quality ingredients such as marinated mushrooms and cheeses. The meatball sandwich is a favorite among many, offering a flavor explosion. While the lunch rush can lead to a bit of a wait, the quality of the food seems to make it worth it. I wanted to order ten sandwiches from this restaurant. The flyer they provide to customers states that orders must be placed in advance by sending a carrier with our order, as they do not have a fax number. I thought this would prevent any confusion compared to ordering over the phone. However, when the carrier arrived, they refused to accept it. I ended up ordering lunch from another restaurant that we usually order from, as this place seems unreliable and uncertain. I do not recommend them at all. They cannot even confirm if they received the order, as they did not accept the carrier with the order in it. Unless the carrier had called, it is likely that they would not have informed me that they were not able to fulfill the order, leaving our team without lunch.

This is my Thursday Lunch place, and it never stops impressing. I only taste the meatball sandwich (the small one that is huge, which makes my mouthwater in the anticipation: roasted paprika and mushrooms, cheese and the most amazing meatballs ever served...on a crunchy baguette that is actually worth the calorie. my friend dared to try and swear the Prosciutto sandwich, it's just as good. they serve a homemade suppe of the day that looks delicious. my buddy likes the espresso. there is often a line just ahead-noon, but when they wait until the hurry is slowed down. in summer there are terrace seats, or tables inside for hot (or cold days). the bathrooms are clean and only for protective cartridges. M-F open for lunch, directly opposite st of mec with view of the office towers of calgary. for those who think ahead, they can call in their order by

I worked a few blocks away from Mauro's, and when I discovered it, I began my search. Their house-made focaccia sandwiches are unbeatable. Mauro makes some of the best focaccia I've ever had; it is bursting with the taste of olive oil! They also offer great Italian delicacies such as cheese, marinated mushrooms, paprika, and sweet spreads. I recommend getting a half-sandwich (which is huge) and half-salad, as their salads are also beautifully prepared. Chicken parm and meatball sandwiches are also on the menu. My only advice is to arrive early, as during the lunch rush, there can be a wait of several minutes to get your sandwich!

The coffee is good, the sandwiches are great, and the atmosphere is relaxed and unpredictable. There are not many places like this in Calgary.

This is my Thursday lunch spot, and it never ceases to impress. I've only had the meatball sandwich (the small, which is huge, costs $8) which makes my mouth water in anticipation: roasted peppers and mushrooms, cheese, and the most amazing meatballs ever, all served up on a crispy baguette that's actually worth the calories. My friend has ventured to try the prosciutto sandwich and swears it's just as good. They serve a home-made soup of the day that looks delicious. My buddy likes the espresso too. There's often a line just pre-noon, but if you wait until 12:10, the rush has dwindled. There's patio seating outside in the summer, or tables inside for hot (or cold!) days. The bathrooms are clean and for patrons only. Open M-F for lunch, located just across 8th St from MEC with a view of Calgary's office towers. For those who think ahead, you can phone in your order by 11am to pick-up by 11:30.
