Was Anonym at Tasty Pot a mag?
Went in for lunch on a cold day, was very satisfied with the hot and hearty meal! Got the lamb hot pot, spicy, with rice. There are a bunch of different ingredients added, and it's actually a surprisingly big portion. Spice was great, hot but alsoflavorful. Great meal for a chilly day! View all feedback.

Warning if you are a person of color or African American please do not support this restaurant. Today (10/27/22) my husband entered this restaurant for the first time and was rudely greeted. Holy hot pot!!! As a hot pot newbie, I was a little intimidated at first, but the friendly staff at Tasty Pot made me feel so welcome and comfortable. They even went above and beyond by accommodating my dietary needs, changing up the broth and ingredients to suit my needs. Talk about excellent customer service!And let's talk about the food oh boy, was it delicious! Every ingredient was so fresh and full of flavor, and there was more than enough to satisfy my growling tummy. And they didn't skimp on the portions either I left feeling like a satisfied hot pot champion.Now, I won't lie I visited on a busy Saturday night and had to wait for a bit, but it was so worth it! Plus, there was plenty of seating to go around, so no need to worry about that. And let me tell you, watching my hot pot simmer away on the table was like a mesmerizing food dance I could have watched it for hours!All in all, Tasty Pot is now officially on my list of top hot pot spots. I can't wait to come back and dive into that delicious broth again!
Been here 3 times now so here's a detailed review Limited street parking so be patient, walking in it's a small restaurant but it's cozy and spacious enough to maintain privacy. I prefer to sit in the upstairs dining area. Also I might be eating this dish wrong because I ask them to not turn the hot burning coals on since I can not eat my food when it's extremely hot in temperature. Typically the fire is suppose to burn and go out itself in time but I don't enjoy eating my food that way ALTHOUGH I realize that is the way it is supposed to be eaten here which is great and I love how different cultures eat there soups.In my opinion these soups have a lot of topping but not enough noodles in even when I ordered extra noodles at an extra charge I still did not feel satisfied with the portion of noodles given for a $30 soup. Ingredients tasted very fresh and soup was delicious. Note that add ons are overly expensive for example $3 for one hard boiled egg. Also add on options are not clear enough so how many dumplings come in one order of an add on is not clear on the menu. Service is always speedy we get our soups within minutes from ordering whether it's busy or not and workers are polite and attentive. FYI all the broths seem to be pork broth and once I tried the Thai option and I was not satisfied with how it tasted very distinctive taste for me but all other broths were extremely tasty! TIPS:1. If you want additional toppings and your total exceeds $20, just get another hot pot. 2. This is the only hot pot place so far in Berkeley. The portions here are pretty bad for add-ons. The meatballs were around $3 and you get five. The only aspects are a bit worth it was the fish cakes and the imitation crab. One pot itself was pretty small and overall not very filling for two people, get two if you're dining with someone else. Seating is incredibly cramped, especially with backpacks and all. In addition, the bathroom was hard to get to, but the layout of the restaurant was interesting in that there were two stories. The food itself was not bad. The balls were good and the pot had a lot of flavors. It overall came out to be $50 after the pot and around six add-ons. I still prefer Boiling Point, but the closest is in Fremont. I will be exploring hot pot places in Oakland and updating it!
