A very cosy restaurant located in a building with more than 700 years of history. As starter I had a salad with bacon, parmesan cheese..really big, could be perfectly a main course. The surprise was the main course lever with roti, the lever was cut in little pices and very soft and the roti was just perfect..
Me and friend had an entrée soup each. Had a veal schnitzel and some pasta and a beer, friend had veal and traditional rosti and a glass of wine. Food was good, but it did not warrant the 130 CHF that was printed on the bill. Should have been maybe 70 or 80 CHF max. Tourist Trap? one has this feeling....
Nice atmosphere and good main courses in reasonable quantities. We didn't have preliminary courses but the ones we saw looked pretty good. Don't have the show wines by the glass in the front of the menu the quantities they provide are tiny. Overall pretty expensive for what you get but the prices were better than the majority of others in the waterfront strip..
We visited the restaurant for dinner. The place was fantastic, although the tables for two are rather small. The service was quick and polite and the food excellent! My husband tried a steak, which was very tender and juicy and I tried the veal sausage, which was delicious!! We recommend it, as a very nice restaurand in the Old Town of Zurich
La Forchetta is the kind of place that you want to boast about to everybody and at the same time you hope it doesn‘t get too popular so it keeps its charm. The food (really anything you choose from the set lunch menu to the à la carte menu) is excellent, the service is impeccable, very friendly and staff makes you feel right at home.
