I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy the high standard of Basque cuisine since the eighties, but the Chuleta here is by far, the best I’ve ever had. So good, we’ve (all six of us returned twice, and consistently incredible, each time. While all the starter choices, (most of the vegetables from their own garden! and seafood dishes were really good, the Chuleta steals the show. Very unusual to get the combination of sourcing high quality beef, storage, preparation and cooking, culminating in such a high standard product. They cooked the beef with three different fuels (fresh wood, industrial and local charcoal on our last visit, just to demonstrate the different aroma/flavours. A lot of attention to detail here. There is also an honesty here with the different age/quality of beef available, and the associated costs being charged. Really good value too, should be charging much more!! All this helps to generate an easy going, friendly and relaxing warm ambiance too. Keep up the good work, can’t wait to revisit when we’re back in the area.

Although we were not dressed for the occasion and didnt have a reservation we got served two steaks with fries and cheesecake in the end. We received tuna with olive oil and bread as a starter. It was really good. Very happy. All in all 78 euros which is fine for 2 people. Its more on the posh side but i liked it a lot.

And when we were on the way I tried to look at the website to see the menu and it told me that it was closed, I called and they confirmed that it was closed. They didn't even have the decency to call us to cancel. Thank you for spoiling our entire day by coming from so far away. One and no more. Food: 1
