We have been coming to Zermatt for over 20 years, every year,... read more We were offended, rude old man waiter hounding us for a tip. Even after the Added service charge. We have been coming to Zermatt for over 20 years, every year, and never have we ever been treated this way. After paying with credit card, he asked, “do you want to add more” we declined knowing that tipping is not customary particularly when a service charge is already added. He wouldn’t let it go. Knowing we were Americans he kept on with trying to get a tip from us. When we told him we had been coming to Zermatt for over 20 years and have never been asked or pressured for a tip, he kept making excuses. Completely offensive and NOT TYPICALLY ZERMATT.

Food is good and the staff is very friendly ! Not sure why people are complaining , I had a very pleasant experience and would highly recommend it! This place h... read more Food is good and the staff is very friendly ! Not sure why people are complaining , I had a very pleasant experience and would highly recommend it! This place has a fantastic setting, amazing views on the Matterhorn, facing the sun most of the day and a large terrace. I have been there last year and am going again this year. It was a great experience to sleep on the mountain, it’s a great way to connect with nature.
