the service is in order, the entrees are easy to order. the roasted rice is cooked with the eggs over hard, so that the ice takes over the dish and not too many sweet. also no spring rollers, only eier rollers. I didn't say it. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mark Pi's China Gate:
I ordered crab Rangoon and sesame chicken this evening. It was the WORST I have ever tasted. It consisted of carrots that looked to have been frozen, half-cooked chicken, and No sauce whatsoever. Since this restaurant has changed hands, it has been awful. Tonight's meal ruined our dinner completely. View all feedback.
The Szechuan Lunch Entrée with beef and Mark Pi's Famous Egg Roll are consistently delicious! This is the best Asian food in Zanesville.
This is hands down the best Chinese restaurant in town! It's the most amazing Chinese food I've ever had. Everything is cooked to perfection and tastes incredible. After trying this for the first time, I can confidently say I won't be going anywhere else again. The prices are also reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes.
The contrast between Mark Pi’s and our new go-to restaurant is striking. The fried items, particularly the war su guy (breaded fried chicken) and the crab Rangoon, were excessively dark—not from being burnt, but due to the oil clearly needing to be changed. Usually, the potstickers are decent, but the three bites I took revealed small, hard bits that looked like bone. I couldn’t overlook that unexpected texture, and after some others tried them and agreed, we ended up throwing them away. On a brighter note, the rice was perfect this last time. My older son said the sesame chicken was just okay, and while the war su guy sauce was quite good, it couldn’t mask the greasy taste of the chicken.
The Orange Chicken was very good and the portions are awesome!
I called before ordering and asked if yellow or brown gravy. they said yellow. I received a spicy brown for the wor su gai. wasn't horrible but not what I ordered. their food is really pricey though.
