We’ve drank a lot of Belgian beers between us and there was no doubt that these werent right. Staff basically said that they were fine (without tasting/rechecking them) and made no attempt to rectify. There are lots of great bars down the street serving beer the way it should be, i suggest visiting these instead.

I know the stronger beers are served in small glasses but the ‘normal’ strength beers are available in all the other bars in Ypres in pint glasses

There are also sets of different beers to try and the plate with pate and chease is realy good in taste and quantity of food. Best recommendations!

There is a gre... read more This café is situated close to the Menin Gate and is an ideal setting for a drink and bite to eat before or following the eight o'clock ceremony. There is a great selection of Belgian beers served by friendly staff. There are seats at the front of the bar which are great for people watching. A comfortable inside seating area and a large outdoor beer garden to the rear. Do try the bitterballen with mustard!! xx
