Fantastic Teppan and HUGE portions! CAN, the owner and cook (yes, his name is Can, NOT Ken), makes the best in the Youngstown/Warren area. You'll have to really look for this place though, because if you didn't know it was there, you wouldn't know it was there. Only cons.... 1. they only accept cash. 2. the menu selection is limited 3. this is a family-owned, family-run restaurant, so expect a long wait...especially... View all feedback.
What Brianna J doesn't like about Tokyo House:
Not a fan first time there and my food made me SICK. The sauce tasted sour, and the grimy atmosphere didn't really make the visit any better. Plus, the uncomfortable inappropriate comments made by the chef is a huge turn off. Not likely to return. View all feedback.

But IMHO, well well well worth the wait. FYI....restaurant is closed during the summer months. Letter grade: A
This is my absolute favorite place to eat. Yes there can be a long wait but it is worth it. Other times you walk right in. I've had everything on the menu at least once and it is all fantastic. Words cannot really do it justice. My typical order is Sweet and Sour Chicken with Shrimp (Can tells me he will give me the sour but I have to get the sweet elsewhere), Shrimp Flambé, Salad, and a Sake. It runs me about $16 and there is enough food for 2 meals. Can makes all of his own sauces and wouldn't have it any other way. You can tell that he cares about what he prepares because it tastes nothing like you have had before. Definitely not like a chain. But let me tell you the real reason this place shines. The owner/cook Can (Yes his name is Can not Ken as some people have stated) is one of the most endearing human beings I have ever met. He makes sure everyone has a good time, he laughs a lot (and so will you) and he genuinely cares about the people he cooks for. That is why we all come back and will wait to see him. This is why he can open only a few hours a day and no weekends. He has built relationships with his customers. And if you ask me, I wouldn't even call his faithful customers but rather friends.
We visited on Friday and I was amazed that we didn't have to wait probably due to it being lent. (by the way I am not a fan of waiting) The table we waited at was filled with 3 late . 20 something females talking like it was a high school reunion at the top of their lung also, along with a child being raised on his Ipad. This however is just a side note. My steak and shrimp were good, but I should have added sweet n sour or some sauce to add flavor to it. My rice was good and the onions are always amazing. My wife's food of shrimp was also good and that is where I got the idea of adding flavor. He is also the most amazing entertainer/ cook in the area.
While I admit I haven't been here in several years, the few visits I did make here were well worth the wait in line. I would say the place is more of a chinese restaurant with japanese flair to the cooking. When I was here I got the sweet and sour chicken which was unlike any I'd had before, it was very delicious though. The mushroom soup has little slivers of mushroom cut paper thin, you can't even taste them. Excellent (since I hate mushrooms). If I lived closer, I'd be back here all the time. As others have said, they are cash only, which is a shame, but if it helps keep costs down....
Knock the dust off of your hunger before you go. One cook but man the food is amazing! Worth the wait
