Handel's Ice Cream - Youngstown

Ice cream was great, the two hairs in it weren't as great. I loved that they have a 4 scoop sampler for $5.50... makes the decision a lot easier when you don't have to choose just one. I also love that they stay open late. Blueberry Cobbler was awesome. Solid balance of ice cream to fruit swirl.

Their ice cream is the best! It's so good that I saw a customer at the window during a raging snowstorm.

Very likely the best ice cream you 'll ever eat! This is real ice cream that is made on site daily. Depending upon the flavor you order, you 'll find it LOADED with chocolate chunks, or nuts, or other ingredients. The portion sizes are generous! There are lots of flavors to choose from, and our family favorites include Chocolate Pecan, Graham Central Station, Red Skies at Night, Spouse Like a House, Grape, Coffee Chocolate Chip, and more! The are like thirty flavors of ice cream, with a few more that enter the rotation. The locations are open year round, and it isn 't unusual to see lines of people in the summer, and a few hardy souls will come out even in the coldest winter days to get their fix of Handel 's ice cream. There are lots of locations in the Mahoning Valley, where the company was founded, and now Handel 's has branched out with franchise locations in Pennsylvania, Texas, and even California! If you haven 't been to one before, get yourself a cone or a cup. (Be sure to leave a tip for the counter staff... they are nice young people and they 're on their feet all day)

This location has great ice cream and great service however they currently have a sewer issue which causes a deathly odor that drifts over the crowd. Hopefully the city will resolve this issue so this great place can get back to business as normal.
