Buffalos - York
Buffalos
Description
Buffalo’s at the Ritz Carlton offers a mix of highs and lows. Guests praise the flavorful dishes, standout appetizers, and attentive bartenders crafting excellent cocktails. The service is generally described as friendly and knowledgeable, creating a welcoming atmosphere for casual dining and celebrations. However, many find the prices steep for a mountain casual spot, with some menu items notably small or overcooked. The ambiance can be loud and crowded, and recent changes to the menu and format have disappointed some returning diners. Overall, it appeals to those seeking quality comfort food with a refined touch, but value expectations vary widely.

This is one of the top restaurants in the area. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the service was excellent.
Additionally, I ordered a double baked potato for $21, and it was surprisingly small—about the size of a medium red potato. This was shocking given the price. We’re from Chicago and have dined at countless steakhouses there; at Gibsons, for example, a double baked potato costs $14 and is at least four times the size. The server didn’t seem to care about our issues, and no one offered to make things right. I should have expected this since it’s a hotel restaurant. Although my wife's dinner was good, we both felt we couldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone based on our disappointing experience, especially at such high prices. We won’t be returning. Geoff
The menu was uninspiring and the food was mediocre—definitely not what one would expect from the Ritz. I had an overcooked hamburger and a schnitzel that was excessively breaded and strangely served with a bone. The wedge salad was quite ordinary, and the trout was served whole instead of butterflied as I had anticipated. On a positive note, the service was excellent.
The food is good. The service is much better than in the past. It's just too expensive. It's convenient; but, restaurants in Avon and Edwards have food just as good at about 1/2 the price. The pricing at the Ritz is ridiculous. The portions are huge. Cut down on the portions and price the food accordingly.
