The fact that it was very busy on Wednesday and Thursday night shows its popularity. We were just over the road at the Holiday Inn and after dinner at their restaurant on our first night we decided to try the Cross Keys. We called to book our table and when we arrived, a nice table was reserved for 2. We enjoyed our first meal so much we reserved a table for the next evening on the way out. Free motorhome parking. fantastic meal with some good ales to boot. bus stops right ahead, less than 10 minutes to the city center. excellent place with friendly atmosphere!
Great pub. with very friendly staff. good selection of diners in the menu to very cheap trips. highly recommended.
Nice pub but the food is not their strong point. Steak and ale pie was disappointing. 1cm thick dry pastry, more pastry than filling. Broccoli was old and yellow, the mash was old and dehydrated from the starch being set for a long time. Gravy was bisto’s finest :D. Chips were undercooked. Onion rings were quite good and a highlight of the meal The service was good though.
Nice local pub. Food was delicious. Service was quick and friendly especially as they were busy. Suitable for children.
Reasonable food and served quickly. They could do with a longer wheelchair ramp as it is. Too steep for powered chairs.
