What User doesn't like about Farmers Daughter:
I used to love this cafe for my Saturday brunches. But ever since they changed coffee suppliers away from campos I can't stomach the terrible tasting coffee anymore. It is a shame as this place has lovely food and friendly service, but without a good coffee to accompany it I don't want to go. View all feedback.

The atmosphere is great for either a quiet conversation or solitary reading or working. The decor is a bit edgy and I was delighted to see some food offerings not available in other places (that I've come across) - Persian Love Cake (yum). But as with all things, people make the difference. The staff were both attentive helpful without being intrusive. They were only too pleased to help and seemed to really be enjoying their work. Made for a relaxed and happy environment. For the coffee snob (which I am) there is the single origin offering which is great.
I had a coffee from the Kiosk in Canberra Centre, the one under the elevators/ next to the toilet. I watched the barista make the coffee and he spilled some of the espresso shot from the cup. He never bothered to make a new shot of espresso but went ahead and served it to me. When I asked him about it, he simply wiped coffee residue from the cup and gave it to me. Lo and behold, what I got was a milky coffee because, probably, half of the espresso spilt out. I've done a coffee course and worked in hospitality and know that there is very little expresso in the cup to begin with. To me this is downright sloppy and lazy. I paid 4.30 for the coffee. Money which did not fall on my lap and this is what I paid for? I will never go back.
