The manager of the motel was quite a character with a long history of hotel management in his past and a charming outlook on life. Very personal and concerned with our comfort he even offered coffee from his kitchen outside of regular hours. The main building of the motel is multi storied and more like a B&B than a motel. What User doesn't like about Lakelawn Motel Cafe:
We took Violet our French bulldog and Bentley, our Boston Terrier on a trip through the maritimes. This motel is dog friendly and attached to a wonderful old building. The room was adequate and clean. Not one bit luxurious, but fine. No A/C but owner has a no outside noise after 10 policy, so it was fine. Breakfast in a charming room - food ok but part of the fruit was bordering on spoiled and part was too green. And... View all feedback.
We enjoyed the breakfast here. Many kinds of fruit, and some nice ham, eggs, and a potato. We thought it was a little expensive at $10 a plate, but we were so full after that we only had a tiny lunch and saved money that way. :)
As soon as we arrived Matthew welcome us like we were had been friends for years. Matthew had a smile on his face ever time we walked in to the office and the breakfast had lots of fruit ,eggs, toast, potatoes, coffee and juice. The rooms are very clean. I will stay at Lakelawn the next time I am in Yarmouth. Thank you Matthew. God Bless.
I am so glad my husband and I decided to stay here at the last minute prior to our trip on the ferry from Yarmouth to Portland, Maine. Matthew greeted us with a friendly smile and made us feel at home right away...we were never rushed even with all my husbands questions about the ferry, parking, where to return our car, where to eat, what to see etc. After a comfortable nights sleep in a refurbished room we had a beautiful breakfast presented to us...eggs, Canadian bacon, toast, fabulous fresh fruit and endless cups of coffee served in a lovely little dining area. What a great start to our day and a perfect way to leave Nova Scotia...a special place.
What a fantastic breakfast you get at this Cafe. From coffee to juice and fruit and sausage and eggs all made in the quaint kitchen one order at a time.. It was awesome!!

(As an aside we rented our car from Enterprise at the port and they have a super staff who supported us even at 12:30 AM and provided us with a drop-off location right at the entry to the embarkation lounge.)
