This is one of my favorite standard Japanese restaurants locally and has become my go-to for takeout sushi. It doesn 't seem to push the limits for the most part beyond your typical Japanese-American restaurant but everything was really fresh, delicious and thoughtful. I got some of my old standbys here in the form of gyoza, shumai, an assortment of rolls and everything was fantastic. The fish seemed really high quality, for example sometimes the scallop maki in particular had a large delicious piece of scallop topped with this really delicious spicy mayo.
Great place! Excellent sushi. Great service. Extensive menu. Not sure what they could do more...
Hidden Jewel... Best Sushi Around (including Most Places in Portland) Her shield distracts people because it looks so generic, but her sushi is really good, 7 days a week....and my wife and I are very picky.
My wife I had our first date here. It is as great today as it was when we ate here that first time. Mr Ma is wonderful cook host.
