This bread is recommended. It's chewy and I love it. I had a calligraphy workshop here the other day, and before I knew it, two hours had passed. It was fun.
Located along route 9, the restaurant is easy to find, but the exterior may seem a bit questionable. However, once you step inside, it is a peaceful cafe. They also have a bakery and cake shop where you can make purchases. Be careful, the pasta is served piping hot! Regardless of how busy it is, be prepared for a bit of a wait.
Weekday mornings, you can enjoy all-you-can-eat freshly baked bread at this restaurant. The price varies depending on the side dish, such as omelettes or sunny-side-up eggs, and comes with a bread buffet. During my stay, about 15 different types of small, cut bread were served, and every time a new batch came out, they would let us know. If you manage to get a freshly baked piece, it's warm, but since there's no toaster, it might be a bit tough during autumn and winter. They have a variety of simple old-fashioned breads using jams and beans, and they even had Anpanman bread, which gave a nostalgic feeling. The garlic toast was particularly delicious. The coffee, while not quite at specialty shop level, was still a well-brewed tasty cup, with a variety of flavored lattes and teas on the menu. It seemed to be popular among locals, with regulars ordering their usual dishes and filling up the place. There also seems to be a cake shop attached, so I definitely want to come back again.
