This was fantastic! I finally went to a restaurant that had exactly what I've been craving: homemade American chicken and dumplings. The first bite brought back so many memories. The okra was delicious, and the loaded potato was good too, although a bit too salty for my taste. I would definitely give it a five-star rating for flavor. However, I have to give it one star for the size of the bowl they used for the chicken and dumplings. It looks like you're getting a lot, but it's really just one cup, which isn't enough. I think it should be at least two cups. Overall, everything else was great!
I had a disappointing experience with the customer service at this restaurant. I placed my order while I was waiting outside, but they asked me to call back when my food was ready. How was I supposed to know when that would be? The food itself looked unappetizing. The quesadilla was lacking any accompaniments—no salsa, pico, or guacamole. It's clear that they need to take more pride in their business.
I ordered takeout from this restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. Although my food was ready at the specified time and I arrived even five minutes early, it was not up to par. I received a frozen peach cobbler that hadn't been baked! The fried okra was scant, with only 13 pieces. The patty melt was dry, lacked sufficient sauce, and the meat was burnt. We ordered a loaded baked potato, but they only provided the toppings without the potato, and they also included apple juice instead of any other beverage. I didn’t feel it was worth the trouble to go back since it’s clear why the parking lot is rarely full. I will also be filing a complaint with corporate.
Stopped here for lunch. The staff was friendly and the place clean and bright. It was not busy and my server, Ava was over right away. They serve comfort foods that are a little different. I ordered the Brisket Tacos and they were very really good. I would recommend you try the Cotton Patch Cafe next time you're in the neighborhood. Thanks Eva and keep up the good work!
