Lunch - Wycombe
Lunch
Description
The restaurant in High Wycombe seems to have struggled with various issues according to customer reviews. Customers complained of inexperienced and impolite staff, long wait times, subpar food quality, and unprofessional behavior from management. The overall dining experience was disappointing for many patrons, with complaints about food mix-ups, unfriendly customer service, and unimpressive meals. Despite some positive comments on prompt service, deals on meals, and delicious options like the homemade cottage pie, the negative feedback seems to outweigh the positives, making it a place to avoid for a less-than-pleasant dining experience.

Delicious breakfast served very promptly. Helpful staff pointed out we would save money ordering as a deal we hadn't spotted. Beautiful seating outside in the May sunshine.
The restaurant experience was extremely disappointing. The staff was initially nice and friendly, but when asked to swap hash browns for chips at breakfast, they said it would confuse the kitchen staff. When questioned further, they relented but then tried to charge £3.75 for the chips. This was not mentioned when the order was placed and the staff became extremely rude when challenged. The food was also subpar, with my partner's club sandwich being mostly lettuce despite being described as having "lashings of bacon." Overall, it was a waste of money and time.
I waited 15 minutes for a server to come to my table after sitting outside. The restaurant wasn't busy, so I'm not sure what the staff were doing. To make things worse, some staff members came out and sat near the door, smoking cigarettes and speaking poorly about other customers. I also saw a table of 4 customers leave after waiting a long time to be served. If I were the owner, I would be very concerned. The food was average, but not worth the wait.
My wife, son and I ate lunch here today and we will not be eating here again! I ordered Omelette and Chips which cost £9.95, it was the worst omelette I have ever tasted. The bacon was under cooked and it was soaking in oil. I informed the manager of this, and her response was “well, it can’t be that bad, we have just had a compliment”. My wife ordered a Chicken Baguette and Chips, the baguette was warm but the chicken was cold. Although there wasn’t anything significantly wrong with it, it did not taste great. From the outset it looks like a nice place and the staff are friendly, but at the end of the day you are going here to eat and that’s precisely where they fail to deliver. This is my second time eating here and my first experience wasn’t particularly great either, so I guess “fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me” or whatever the saying is, but I won’t be going back, let’s put it that way.
