Description

Hamptons Chippy has garnered mixed reviews, reflecting a decline in food quality. While many fondly recall its vibrant, fresh offerings and warm atmosphere, recent experiences have been disappointing, with cold, flaccid chips and overcooked fish. Customers noted poor service during busy periods and some had to discard unsatisfactory meals. However, others celebrate the excellent value and consistent deliciousness of the food, often mentioning friendly staff and generous portions. As regulars continue to enjoy the traditional chippy, the restaurant strives to regain its reputation as a go-to destination for hearty fish and chips in Evesham.

I was disappointed with my experience at Hamptons chippy. It was a waste of time and money. I remember enjoying their food when they first opened, but this evening was a let-down. The fish was dry, the chips were cold, and they tasted like bad potatoes. I hope this was just a one-time occurrence.

We pre-booked having seen the Gluten Free Sunday, our first time at Hampton. Pick up was easy and the chips were plentiful, fresh, and delicious. Fish size was also generous, all very fresh, will definitely be returning. It's quite a process they've to go through to provide gluten free, so glad they did as the next nearest GF chippy is some distance away.

Most chip shops will serve decent food, but Hampton Chippy offer an extra service which you just don't get anywhere else. Not only do they they make sure that the temperature of their food won't burn your mouth, by serving it lukewarm, but they also pre taste it for you. OK, so a bite taken out of a battered sausage is not the norm, but the staff should be commended for ensuring that the food is edible before it leaves the shop. The teeth marks are plainly visible, so check your food to make sure that their unique brand of Quality Control has been carried out. You could even make a game of it guess which of their grubby staff took the bite!

Had chips and they were nice but found them to be quite brown almost like they had been cooked a little too long

In our opinion, the best chippy in Evesham. Everything is freshly prepared and prices are reasonable. It can get busy at the weekends, so a telephone order is probably a good idea. It's a shame that it doesn't open at lunchtimes.
