A lot of complaints about how dry the chicken breast... read more Jay Rays catered our BBQ lunch a couple weeks ago. We ordered for about 205 people.Food the food was fine. A lot of complaints about how dry the chicken breast was but besides that everyone seemed to enjoy the food.Service Overall, the service was fine. It was a very busy BBQ and we were not able to supervise them 24/7. A lot of the time I just saw them sitting/laying on the picnic tables. Probably would have been better if we just served the food ourselves.Biggest Complaint This came with clean up. After we saw how bored the wait staff was, we decided to let them know that they could clean up and go. However, during this clean up they decided that all left over food was for them to bring back with them and not leave. We purchased 205 people worth of food but that was certainly not what we were given. When I went to check in I noticed some left over food on the table that I picked up to take with me when one of the wait staff stopped me, took the food out of my hands and told me that was there food to take back and treated me like I had stolen from them. Out of the 205 people we had about 75 show up so I know there should have been more leftovers than there was and we should have been able to take all leftovers since we paid for them.Complaining to the Owner I reached out to the owner who said he would look into it after I had explained all this to him. His response was that he apologized that we did not get the turn out that we expected and he would make it up to us with some office lunches. Also saying that his wait staff thought that they were doing what was right. Which really scares me because of how many other people got food stolen from them because of Jay Rays wait staff. He took zero accountability for his wait staff and tried to blame us because we told them to clean up.Overall, very poor experience and we will not be using them again. If you decide to use them, I would suggest getting inventory of what you bought in your purchase prices, not using his wait staff and do it yourself and if you do use their waitstaff, SUPERVISE them.

Jay Ray catered my wedding and he and his staff went above and beyond making sure all of our guests got to stuff their faces with delicious BBQ. Jason is a pleasure to work with and his number one goalwas to help us with our big day. He?s a friendly and accommodating person and provides catering services that you will not getelsewhere. He visited our venue during our rehearsal dinner to make sure he had the right supplies the day of the wedding. Heprovided appetizers for cocktail hour. And he even cleaned our rental plates and silverware and returned them to the rentalvendor the following Monday. He also is very easy to reach and was prompt with messaging us back if we had any questions. Trulyexceptional service and top notch BBQ and sides dishes. You can?t go wrong choosing Jay Ray to cater your event!
