Lucian Mediterranean - Worcester

Lucian's is not closed; Luciano's in Union Station is closed, but Lucian's is a soup sandwich deli located inside the Mercantile Center building at 100 Front St. First, I should say that this review is a long-time coming. My colleagues and I have given this place so many chances, from sandwiches to salads to breakfast and soups. Time and time again, the food is lousy, and in my poor colleague's case, vomit-inducing. Their food is below average, yet priced on par or above neighboring food joints. Want a salad? Hope you like a pile of iceberg lettuce for $8.99. Want soup? Hope you like disintegrated noodles in oily water. In the mood for a bread sandwich? Great. Go here. Just don't expect much else besides the bread. It seems like a nice family joint, but until they get bumped out for something with culinary taste, I'll be getting my gourmet salad and sandwiches for the same price around the block.

The food here is excellent and reasonably priced. Everything is always fresh and made from scratch.
