Feedback
Been going to corner lunch for a literal decade- Jojo has almost always waited on me and I loved supporting a family business. I even remember Mrs. B, and if you’re from the neighborhood you do too. Jojo is doing a good job keeping the hospitality side of things running since her fathers well deserved retirement. The food side of things needs a lot of work. I noticed drastic quality differences in both food and preparation. The bread from the blt I ordered was greasy, over toasted to the point of being hard throughout, had two circles of tomato, little ripped up pieces of bacon, and one small smear of mayonnaise that didn’t even reach the edges of the bread. It also came out 10 minutes after my boyfriends food- meaning he was done by the time mine came out and the waitress was already anxious to flip the table- if I had been asked how my food was, I would have absolutely mentioned this, but was only asked if I wanted a box. I don’t normally review, but new owner seems less than gracious to accept actual criticism and needs to understand that he’s cooking on an open line and everyone can see and catch his vibe from where he is working. Sending love to Charlie, Jojo, and the members of their family who have passed on. Good luck to new dude, he has some seriously big shoes to fill if he wants business in the neighborhood that aren’t just holy cross students. Editing to add: my review was replied to in a very solid and respectful way. I am happy to give another chance to this place. I definitely know it’s difficult to time food when it’s not all coming off the same line!! There are always growing pains and this new owner seems not only aware of them, but ready to approach and fix. Awesome stuff and I wish him and the new crew the best. I think if you keep on with this attitude and desire to do better, you will become just as loved in this neighborhood as the previous owner.
