I am consistently impressed by the effort the staff put into their Japanese food. It's a great surprise that you'd expect in the inner city not CARINGBAH. Don't go for the ambience or over the top service. Go for great food and very friendly staff. This little gem has to be one of the best value restaurants south of the city. View all feedback.
The food is always fresh and tasty, the service is friendly and attentive. The best sushi in the shire.
I absolutely love sushi, and spend am usually quite picky. On the day we visited Aomori, there happened to be a blackout as soon as we sat down! This did not deter our lovely waitress, and we were able to order a variety of rolls. They were absolutely delicious and certainly the best sushi we have had in Sydney. I have ordered takeaway many times since then and it is always of the highest standard, large portions, so fresh and their sashimi melts in your mouth! Absolutely amazing.
This is our favorite Japanese restaurant . The friendly , enthusiastic owners faithfully source fresh seafood for their generous sashimi platters . Udon noodles are delicious , tempura soft shell crab : divine . Warm Saki and Japanese beer are a welcome addition to the menu ! Well done Brian and Jon
Two years on and the team at Aomori are still delivering excellent food and service. Only difference is people from all over Sydney eat there.
Never have I had a bad meal at this place. The food is consistently sensational. It is so fresh and so satisfying. Portion sizes are extremely generous and the chefs, staff and family are all exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We ate there last week and I had the Chicken Katsu Curry. I don't think I am wrong in saying it was the best I have ever had. The chicken was immensely succulent and coated to perfection in breadcrumbs. The curry was flavoursome and spiced to absolute perfection. There is no other Sushi place I would even entertain in the Shire. Aomori wins, every single time!
