Why is the owner of this place - the German guy - always looking over his shoulder in a nervous and anxious manner whenever he sets foot into the public bar area? And then there's the skinny brunette barmaid who assumes that any friendly small-talk is an attempt to "get into her pants" due to her "I'm Too Sexy!" and "Everyone Wants A Piece Of Me!" pretentious attention-seeking ****. This charming traditional pub offers generous portions at a great price. The chicken parma and fish and chips were nearly perfect. However, the mashed potatoes and vegetables were lukewarm and the mashed potatoes could have been creamier. The battered fish was exceptional but some parts of the batter were soggy and not crispy. Despite the absence of ham, the parma was still delicious.
Awesome pub, great to roll down to after the Art Gallery of NSW. Local vibe, awesome outdoor seating, and good beer. Always a hit when I bring out-of-towners.
Great friendly pud. Bar staff very professional, service was excellent. Being back a couple of times on Sundays to listen to music.
This traditional pub has a fantastic vintage vibe that still feels fresh. Be sure to sample their delicious brown ale - it's a must-try!
Comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly and interactive staff, quite busy for and great vibe for a relatively quiet part of town.
