Contribute FeedbackThe White House pub, located near Winston Churchill's grave in Bladon, has had mixed reviews. While some visitors found the food disappointing and overpriced, others praised the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. The new management has brought life back to the pub, with improved food and drink selections. The Sunday Roast, a favorite of Churchill's, received positive feedback for flavor and portion sizes. Overall, the community-run pub shows promise, with potential to become a local favorite for both food and drink.
The food was excellent, we both enjoyed the fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The dining space was peaceful, making conversations more enjoyable. The staff were attentive and accommodating, we never had to leave our seats once we were seated. It felt more like a upscale restaurant than a pub. Well done to everyone for the great service.
We opted for the lunch special of fish and chips with peas, accompanied by a glass of wine for £15. The meal was delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. The pub is beautifully decorated and has a charming garden in the back.
We visited this restaurant as a halfway point for our family to meet up and to visit Churchill's grave just over the road. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant is dog-friendly both inside and out. However, it was quite noisy due to its location on a main road. The main issue we had was with the food. The couple sitting next to us complained about their meal, and we also felt disappointed with our ploughman's lunches which were priced at £11 each. We felt that we did not get enough food for the price we paid and left feeling ripped off. Due to this experience, we will not be returning to this restaurant.
We stopped here following a recommendation from the mini garage down the road and so pleased we did. The food was amazing and the beer garden was perfect for lunch. The boy serving us as well on his own was doing a great job as well. Highly recommend
I must have hit it on a bad day as the food was not fresh, the bread burnt, the portions embarrassing. It’s expensive so you expect something better. If there is a worse ploughman’s in Britain I’d be surprised.
