What ever happened to the Beef Club? Once a stylish restaurant with an elegant interior, it's now somewhere between a Maredo and an IKEA restaurant. Here's my original 5-star review: The only place I know of in the region to eat organic meat in a steakhouse. All the shops and restaurants in Autostadt serve exclusively organic products, sourced regionally whenever possible. Any exceptions are clearly marked. That alone deserves 5 stars. There's a wide selection of gin and tonics, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks. The meat is regional and of good quality; you can taste it. The service is very attentive, though sometimes a bit overly polite and therefore inauthentic. The prices are reasonable for the quality.
That was awful! I ordered a filet steak well done butterfly cut. It was served burnt on the outside, medium on the inside, and it wasn 't even a butterfly cut! It just tasted burnt, and when the juices started running out, it was already ruined! I had ordered well done! When the server asked 15 minutes later if everything was alright, it was already too late. He said he could put the steak back on the grill! It was already burnt on the outside anyway! What could possibly improve it?! Unfortunately, this wasn 't the first time. We 've given the Beef Club another chance. We 've eaten at the Beef Club several times, and it was actually very good, but as soon as you walk in, you get this feeling that the steak will be good or it won 't be good. ... Now it 's clear... I will never set foot in the Beef Club again.
Unfortunately, our visit was not a success. The spare ribs were tiny (a 10 cm strip) and very fatty. My wife's rump steak didn't look like 300 grams and was lukewarm. On top of that, we waited over an hour for our food even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. We certainly won't be going back.
