The coffees w... read more The restaurant area in Dobbies Garden Centre, Shinfield ... looked fine and there were spare tables so we ordered our afternoon drinks and snacks. The coffees were just about okay but the 2 cakes we chose were far from it. The Chelsea Bun was dry and the iced bun looked like it had had a bite out of it and at £2.95 was over-priced.

It is a bit grotty, we went for a late coffee and cake just after lunch, dirty tables, this is self service and the food on display looked far from edible. Very slow counter service from a young man who wasn’t really sure what he was doing it took ages to get a simple coffee.

You can even get your car washed whilst you shop. Would recommend

The staff all work extremely hard , we will definitely recommend this cafe to others.

Had a wonderful Vegan afternoon tea in the cafe for birthday celebrations, unfortunately on the day we had originally booked there had been an issue and the kit... read more Had a wonderful Vegan afternoon tea in the cafe for birthday celebrations, unfortunately on the day we had originally booked there had been an issue and the kitchen was closed but the staff rebooked and refunded us and made sure when we returned we had a lovely time, we were given complimentary Prosecco and the vegan food was amazing, better than any other vegan afternoon tea I’ve had that were more expensive and in posh hotels! Great value for money highly recommend. Thank you to all the staff for making sure we had a lovely time.

A real shame. Plenty of staff visable, I was the Only customer in the store and not one member of staff greeted me in any manner, shelves were disheveled, house plants very unhealthy looking, and the outside area looked derelict. Totally needs a overhaul, whether its simply the stores visuals and stock and/or its management.

We each had a breakfast which... read more We took my 18 month old son 4 year old nephew to Hare Hatch Dobbies ' Breakfast with Father Christmas event and it was brilliant! We each had a breakfast which was cooked well a drink was included. There was a colouring sheet, crayons a cracker on the table for each child a Christmas card with our name on it as we arrived. They also received a chocolate star there were tree decorations to make whilst waiting. The elf was amazing (I think she made the whole thing run smoothly) came to chat with each child. When Father Christmas came, he was lovely looked great. We got to choose a present (which included Duplo, Lego, Playmobil and other things) but they had run out of Duplo by our turn. However, the elf was quite happy to run back to the sleigh get us one which was really kind. Would definitely recommend as a meeting Father Christmas experience.

They have a well stock pet and wild bird section. A large inshore Sainsburys is now available with some great food products. The onsite cafe is well worth a stop to chill or just recover from your shopping experience.

Members of the gardening club receive a 10... read more We always enjoy shopping here because the plants are of excellent quality, and the discounted prices are substantial. Members of the gardening club receive a 10% discount and two free coffees each month. Dobbies truly knows how to please their customers, and the local manager is fantastic and very pleasant. It's always a pleasure to visit. In 2022, there are plans to close and completely rebuild, which should enhance this space! The restaurant is due for an upgrade, and I’m confident that once the entire project is complete, the Henry Street Garden Centre will become a local star attraction.
