Dobbies Garden Centre - Feedback

Was Jennie W at Dobbies Garden Centre a mag?
I took my mother and daughter to the cafe for Mother's Day afternoon tea. After booking, I received a call from Dobbies to confirm they could accommodate my vegan diet. We were warmly welcomed on the day and shown to our table, which was beautifully set with a tier of sandwiches, scones, and delicious desserts. They even made extra sandwiches for me. We were each given a gift as well. I will definitely be returning s... View all feedback.
What Scene set dislikes about Dobbies Garden Centre:
......I visited Dobbies for plants, primarily, as it’s a garden centre. Good selection of indoor and outdoor plants albeit coming to the end of the season. Not really interested in all of the other spin off non- garden merchandise. Did sign up for the club though where you earn points on spend, so it might well secure my loyalty, but probably not until Spring next year!.

Typical sort of food for a garden centre, the always seem to be short staffed and so a bit slow but food is generally cooked well we like the breakfast.
The restaurant area in Dobbies Garden Centre, Shinfield ... looked fine and there were spare tables so we ordered our afternoon drinks and snacks. The coffees were just about okay but the 2 cakes we chose were far from it. The Chelsea Bun was dry and the iced bun looked like it had had a bite out of it and at £2.95 was over-priced.
It is a bit grotty, we went for a late coffee and cake just after lunch, dirty tables, this is self service and the food on display looked far from edible. Very slow counter service from a young man who wasn’t really sure what he was doing it took ages to get a simple coffee.
Popped in for usual garden supplies and decided to have a cooked brekkie, not bad, very well priced, service a bit slow but ok, clean restaurant, toilets clean, plenty of parking, world of water at rear, good selection of plants, great farm shop. You can even get your car washed whilst you shop. Would recommend
Very very poor breakfast, most of the food was cold, asked for well done eggs eggs came out under done no napkins looked like the hand towels had come from the toliet, staff should spend a Little less time talking out load, this is not the first time we have had a poor breakfast here free drink or not each month will be a long time before we go again,
Dobbies Garden Centre offers a variety of dining options, from disappointing sandwiches and coffee to outstanding afternoon teas. The staff are usually polite and accommodating, although service can be slow. The Breakfast with Father Christmas event is highly recommended for families, with thoughtful touches and a magical experience. The cafe has a cozy ambiance, perfect for a casual meal or tea with friends. Vegan options are available and can be delicious, while plant selection is extensive. Overall, Dobbies is a destination for good food, family-friendly events, and a pleasant shopping experience.

Went to Dobbies today the 24th December for our Christmas lunch. The food was on time pipping hot and absolutely delicious. The staff all work extremely hard , we will definitely recommend this cafe to others.
Had a wonderful Vegan afternoon tea in the cafe for birthday celebrations, unfortunately on the day we had originally booked there had been an issue and the kitchen was closed but the staff rebooked and refunded us and made sure when we returned we had a lovely time, we were given complimentary Prosecco and the vegan food was amazing, better than any other vegan afternoon tea I’ve had that were more expensive and in posh hotels! Great value for money highly recommend. Thank you to all the staff for making sure we had a lovely time.
An utter mess. Shameful. A real shame. Plenty of staff visable, I was the Only customer in the store and not one member of staff greeted me in any manner, shelves were disheveled, house plants very unhealthy looking, and the outside area looked derelict. Totally needs a overhaul, whether its simply the stores visuals and stock and/or its management.
Plenty to see! All the lovely colours of spring, polite and helpful staff and to top it all, we had a lovely dinner in the cafe. It was a nice way to spend a miserable, cold, wet and dreary afternoon.
We took my 18 month old son 4 year old nephew to Hare Hatch Dobbies ' Breakfast with Father Christmas event and it was brilliant! We each had a breakfast which was cooked well a drink was included. There was a colouring sheet, crayons a cracker on the table for each child a Christmas card with our name on it as we arrived. They also received a chocolate star there were tree decorations to make whilst waiting. The elf was amazing (I think she made the whole thing run smoothly) came to chat with each child. When Father Christmas came, he was lovely looked great. We got to choose a present (which included Duplo, Lego, Playmobil and other things) but they had run out of Duplo by our turn. However, the elf was quite happy to run back to the sleigh get us one which was really kind. Would definitely recommend as a meeting Father Christmas experience.

The restaurant offers a wide range of both indoor and outdoor facilities. Although the café was busy and there were a few mistakes made by the staff, the food was served hot and the coffee was strong! It was the perfect time to visit, as the flowers were absolutely stunning.
At the beginning there is a good parking lot with lots of space. there are many selections of plants and garden sons. the center felt very clean and tidy. the plants were in good condition and looked well maintained.
Dobbies is a great local garden centre with vast range of indoor and outdoor plants with all the equipment and accessories you might ever need for your garden. They have a well stock pet and wild bird section. A large inshore Sainsburys is now available with some great food products. The onsite cafe is well worth a stop to chill or just recover from your shopping experience.
Friendly cheap plants and accessories wide range of plants. small caffe with hot and cold drinks, cakes and small meals.
We always enjoy shopping here because the plants are of excellent quality, and the discounted prices are substantial. Members of the gardening club receive a 10% discount and two free coffees each month. Dobbies truly knows how to please their customers, and the local manager is fantastic and very pleasant. It's always a pleasure to visit. In 2022, there are plans to close and completely rebuild, which should enhance this space! The restaurant is due for an upgrade, and I’m confident that once the entire project is complete, the Henry Street Garden Centre will become a local star attraction.

Great selection of garden plants and furniture and lots of other household items and gifts. Good cafeteria area and friendly, helpful staff. :0)
The café is charming, featuring a delightful small produce shop. They offer a wide and fascinating variety of products.
I visited the café today, and the food was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We also took some time to look at the Christmas decorations, which are still up...
