What janewS2165EJ doesn't like about The Wheatsheaf:
On 1st November we received a confirmed booking for Christmas lunch for x 5 people, secured with a £50.00 deposit. 2 weeks later we get an email to say this was a technical error as in reality they are fully booked and cannot honour the booking. I phone to get the refund as requested, there is no apology and they cannot perform the refund either. I ask to speak to the manager and this is refused. Just awful. View all feedback. read moreNestled near the theatre, this inviting pub offers a blend of friendly service and classic dishes. While many patrons rave about the excellent value and delectable roasts, others recount frustrating experiences with slow service and subpar food quality. Complaints range from overcooked fish and improperly prepared pasta to a lack of condiments and omitted vegetables. Despite these inconsistencies, the staff’s warm demeanor stands out, creating a welcoming atmosphere. With enticing deals via their app, this spot remains popular among some diners, though caution is warranted based on the varied feedback. Overall, expect a casual dining experience with potential pitfalls.
