We were invited here by someone who has been coming to this establishment for 30 years, and Rock Salmon was recommended and ordered by everyone in our party. It was the most delicious fried fish, a huge portion, and apart from one thick bone that had to be removed from the middle, there were no other bones, amazing! No wonder the Rock Salmon was sold out after one hour from opening. The restaurant section is very nicely decorated and clean, white table cloths on tables, small bar area is at the back. I would’ve given five stars for this review, but I had to take one star off for a 30 minute wait for our drinks while the gentleman/ owner ? was having a lively conversation with a couple of friends at the bar. We were the only people that arrived at the restaurant at opening time and he led us to the table, then proceeded to ignore us. After finally taking our order, the pace picked up, we did not have to wait too long for our meal to arrive and every single item was fresh and absolutely delicious. There is a takeout section next to this restaurant, and it was incredibly busy with a line of people out on the sidewalk waiting to get their hands on the delicious fish. I am looking forward to visiting again, because I’ve never seen the Rock Salmon anywhere else on the menu, but I hope the service will improve.

I put ‘cod’ in inverted commas as, like another reviewer suggested, it was like no other cod I have ever seen or tasted, so I have bagged it up and will get Trading Standards to assess it, The fish and chip game isn’t difficult. Just go to a few of the top ranked guys and copy them. Or, produce complete and utter rubbish and hope the gullible public come back. Well, you’ve taken the one and only money you’ll ever take from me, so that’s a short term ploy in my view. To summarise: Embarrassingly bad. Guys, you’re in the wrong game.
