Great spot for tapas and wine! I dined in for dinner and found the prices to be reasonable, around $20–30 per person. The food was excellent, earning a solid 4 out of 5, and the service was equally impressive, also rated a 4. The atmosphere was enjoyable as well, giving it another 4. Highly recommend!
Overall, it was a mediocre experience. The food was just "okay," lacking flavor and significantly overpriced when compared to the nearby, more authentic Pintxo Pincho restaurant. We wanted to try something different, so we decided to give it a chance. The service was friendly, and the live music was a pleasant surprise. However, the $12 plate of grilled asparagus, which only had 5 limp pieces, was definitely not. While tapas are meant to be small plates, this was simply disappointing. The other dishes were decent but not memorable. Like many average restaurants in 2023, Matadora offers its mediocrity at a high price. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant since I work nearby and their hours fit my schedule. The host seated us, and we checked in with the bartender. After that, a waiter came by to drop off water, but no one took our drink order for over 15 minutes. This was on a Tuesday night, and it wasn’t even busy. Given the high prices and such poor service, I don’t think we’ll be returning. Overall, I would rate the service a 1.
