We stayed on 26.11.2017 for brunch in the table. The offer was versatile. Breakfast, dessert, drinks, all right. But the warm food was really warm. I already had 10 minutes. After 12 a.m. only slightly heated dishes on the plate and the vegetables offer with plug-in beet, pumpkin and spinach was also not great.
The ambience in the restaurant is bright and appealing, great piano accompaniment and a fireplace fire. Because of the hotel reception and the guests arriving, it is better to choose a place further behind. Very friendly and competent staff. As appetizers there were for us, after a delicious greeting from the kitchen, scallop and capachio very well tasted, great dressed: exellent! In addition, a good Riesling cabinet in an open plan. As the main course we had maish chicken breast and once ribeye steak. We ordered a beautiful Rioja Reserva, served with the right temperature and ventilated. The chicken was quite spicy. The steak is desalinated. I immediately got a new piece of meat. Unfortunately, the main dishes could not reach the level of the appetizers. As dessert we had cheese variations and a phenomenal parfait from strawberries and white chocolate. A very tasty dessert that has been highly recommended by the service. To the finale there was espresso and a sixteen-year-old lagavulin. Prices are not low but reasonable Conclusion: A very successful evening in a restaurant that represents an enrichment for the gastronomy in Wismar yet no perfection but on the way there.
The recessions here are very different, that may be. whether you are a guest in the hotel or not. We are guests of the hotel. 5 persons in July 2020. From the hotel business, everything was good but the restaurant is the pure catastrophe. Some 2 hours are waiting for dinner. It seems that guests are treated differently depending on the booking or whether you are a hotel guest or not. The proportion of children is greater than that for adults. That's ridiculous considering what you pay here for a week. Thank you, but we're not coming back.
Perhaps it is even good in the area, but in the overall context there are no more than three stars. Depending on the utilisation, breakfast is really good in terms of choice and quality, but with all definitely available kindness it is lacking basics in service and with high utilisation the first-mentioned aspects also suffer. The dinner was buffet, which therefore does not have to be bad, but in this case at best the dessert was very good. In total, a visit to Wismar is very worthwhile and the hotel breakfast can be done as long as you do not arrive with a real four star expectation. If you are a water rat, you will certainly have a swimming pool.
We had to take buffet even though we had not reserved it. Probably because there is a buffet for hotel guests anyway. The food unfortunately partially already cold, unbeautiful half covered with aluminum foil. There was a meat and a fish dish with some supplements and that for 35, € per person. (1 glass Hugo 8, € and tastefully no explosion. I'm sorry, but not again. The service was very nice.
