We were promised that my daughter's 40th birthday celebration would be perfect, after our disappointing ruby anniversary dinner in September. However, the evening was a complete failure. Despite sending in pre-ordered menus for 22 people, there were still mistakes in the orders and some guests had to return their meals. One meal even arrived after we had all finished eating. We waited a long time for drinks, and when they finally arrived, some were still incorrect. The food, which had been fantastic the last time we visited, was subpar this time. One guest couldn't even eat their T-bone steak due to it being full of gristle and fat. I had to share other guests' food with them. The meat platter my husband and I shared was not even enough for one person, let alone two. The entire evening was a disaster from start to finish, and we will definitely not be returning. When one guest complained to the manager about the terrible service, we were told to leave. Despite most guests reluctantly paying, we did not receive any apologies. My guests left feeling hungry and disappointed, and my daughter's 40th birthday celebration was a huge letdown. It is clear that the restaurant lacks the expertise to handle party bookings, despite their assurances.

Great when it first opened but now gone right down hill. Now I know why the place was deserted when collecting food on a Saturday night! Save your money!

We selected the... read more This was our first visit to the Riviera (I think it’s changed it’s name recently). The decor was very nice and the staff attentive and friendly. We selected the mixed platter to share between us. Everything was well executed and very tasty. It was also pretty good value for money. We will be back.

I ordered th... read more We visited this restaurant for the second time after a fantastic first experience. Everything was going well until there was an issue with my meal. I ordered the beef mexicana, which was supposed to come with sour cream. I thought the sour cream would help balance out the spiciness of the dish, but instead, it was topped with what seemed to be garlic mayo. I asked the server to check, and they confirmed that it was indeed garlic mayo, as the chef had run out of sour cream. I was disappointed and explained that the chef should have informed me beforehand. They offered to replace the dish, but my girlfriend was already eating, so I asked them to scrape off the mayo so I could try to eat it. I didn't enjoy it without something to cool down the spice, and unfortunately, they were also out of yogurt. I was surprised that I was still charged full price, considering I hardly touched the dish and only enjoyed the salad and rice. I hope that this was just a one-time mistake.
