A busy day lead to thoughts of a meal and a place new to me and friends. The Nook was recommended and we went for dinner. A request for decaf coffee was fine and there was a variety of things to choose from. The onion rings were fantastic, and the salad as well. One concern was for gluten free fries, the honest answer was that it was not known if the supplier could provide this. I enjoyed the fries as they had less salt, the gravy provided all the salt needed. This is a diner long established easy to get to, service was great as we did take out after placing the order. Easy to find by bus and worth a return trip.
This place is a hidden gem (or maybe it's not so hidden anymore). The food is like you would fine in someone's home, with fresh and flavorful ingredients. The had a Reuben, and was very impressed with the quality of the corned beef. The chicken fingers and home made fries that my fiancee had were also of really high quality, with excellent gravy. The chocolate milkshake that we had was also very tasty.
The Nook is a friendly corner diner with a great mix of standard diner fare. Their evening specials are always very good and the food quality is excellent. It is a great place for a relaxed meal or leisurely breakfast
The Nook offers no nonsense breakfast, lunch and brunch options that should appeal to anyone looking for classic diner food. Despite that moniker, the do offer some unique and realized dishes that show the creativity and skill of its chefs. The perfect place for the start (or end) of ones day.
We live in Wolseley and enjoy going to the Nook for breakfasts when we're in the mood for a hearty, traditional meal. I've tried the bacon and eggs served with hash browns and toast, as well as the steak and eggs. Greg has opted for the classic breakfast, an omelet, and eggs Benedict. The burgers and fries are also quite good. This place is your quintessential greasy spoon diner—not to be mistaken for being dirty; it’s definitely clean. The food is straightforward, with no gimmicks, and served in generous portions at reasonable prices. The staff and owners are always friendly and accommodating, especially when it comes to my allergies. Plus, you can actually have a conversation at a decent volume without being overwhelmed, unlike some other breakfast spots.
