Was Angie at Cedar Manor a mag?
We ate in the restaurant twice while staying. There was an intimate atmosphere and excellent presentation with attention to detail. There was an above average menu and the food was well cooked. Cheeseboard highly recommended. It was a special occasion and the hotel pulled out the stops. View all feedback.
What OpenTable Diner dislikes about Cedar Manor:
We arrived 15 minutes late, and the manager told us he would not serve us. While it is clearly our fault for being late, I have never been refused service for arriving 15 minutes late. First, we were told our table was given to someone else since they didn’t know if we were coming (we’d called confirming a few hours prior). Later, the manager told us the chef had decided to leave because we were late. The two stories... View all feedback.
Had afternoon tea with a friend last Saturday, fabulous the sun was shining we sat in the lovely garden and everything was beautiful will definitely go back the attention to detail and service 10 out 10
This review is strictly on the afternoon tea experience only. The food was absolutely wonderful, the lady who served food and the male staff (presumed the owner) were both very kind and friendly. I felt that the afternoon tea was an absolute treat since there was nothing to fault with, that was only until it was ruined by the rude woman who was driving past in black 4x4 (presumed female host). After we finished the afternoon tea, I decided to let my dog out from our car to let him stretch his legs before we set off, the rude woman mentioned above asked me if I was looking for a public footpath so I answered no. She then started to lecture me about the ‘no dog policy’ in the property as well as pointing a direction to the public footpath I did not ask. She drove further towards the car park and parked there, got out of her, and started to tell me off in the most rude way possible again. I explained that we just had an afternoon tea here and we’re about to leave. She then turned around started to take stuff out of her boot mumbling loud “stupid..blah blah” in the angry tone, which by the way was clear for me to hear even though I was at least a few feet away from her. I was so bewildered and frustrated at how this perfectly lovely experience went down the hill like this si quickly. Hence I took two stars off even though I did enjoy the food here. Whoever that woman was, please make sure that they cannot behave that way to a guest.
We have recently visited Cedar Manor for Afternoon Tea and it was the best Afternoon Tea we have ever had!! Being gluten free it can be hard to find places that accommodate, but this Afternoon Tea came out looking exactly the same and tasted amazing! All the staff were great and we would definitely recommend. We would love to come back!
We enjoyed our evening the service was excellent and the living room well presented and cozy. For us the downside was the very low lighting in the dining room it was hardly possible to see what you were eating. The food was good but at the set price not overall excellent with its rather limited menu mains fish, chicken, lamb and steak). The mid quality wines were on the expensive side.
