What melcM4988FT likes about Scene:
The food was excellent, with no complaints. While the staff was friendly, we encountered a waiter who seemed tired and lacked wine service skills. The steak and fish and chips were both delicious. The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. View all feedback. What OssianLtd doesn't like about Scene:
Staying in the hotel, so ate here one night (in the bar the other). The menu is fixed price, with 5 or 6 choices per course.Starter was a ham hock not a large portion served on a slate, so bits kept falling off. Nice, but could have done with more....Main was chicken with veg again nice, and more generous. Drinks were very expensive (to my mind) and many of the beers were off.Service was very good. read moreAt this hotel restaurant, guests have experienced a mix of culinary delights and disappointments. While some praised the high-quality dishes, including standout sweet potato fries and expertly cooked mains, others found the food overpriced and often reminiscent of microwave meals. Afternoon tea offerings failed to meet expectations due to menu discrepancies and absent beverages, overshadowing the celebratory occasion. Service varied, with some staff excelling in hospitality, while others appeared inexperienced. Despite the ambiance remaining quiet, the restaurant often showcased a solid winter menu, showcasing well-prepared meals at competitive prices, making it a potential option for guests looking for a reliable dining experience.
