We dined on the deck with a lovely view of the river, making for a relaxing atmosphere. There was live music playing on Wednesday evening, and we learned they also offer it on Fridays and Sundays. Don't miss checking out the restroom—it's designed like a sea salt cave! The owner can share the story behind that—very creative! I also had a fascinating conversation with her about the recovery efforts following the flood... View all feedback.
What Thomas Brown doesn't like about Waterfront Grill And Gathering:
Mini plates for high prices on plastic plate wear, no less. $12 each? Not a classy but casual place. Disappointing food. Atmosphere by river is very pleasant but don't go for the frozen reheat food in styrofoam or the saltiness crackers for apps. Eat at home first. Come for the music. View all feedback.

I also had a fascinating conversation with her about the recovery efforts following the flood in spring 2021. We were camping at Boonesborough State Park, and we were thrilled to discover this gem so close by!
This restaurant is a fantastic find in the area! The owner was friendly and took the time to explain the restaurant's concept and how they use a salt block for some of their dishes. I was not disappointed at all! The chili was delicious, and the burger arrived hot, fresh, and quickly, with an incredible taste—EXCELLENT! Cooking it on the salt block added a wonderful flavor. They also have a large deck in the back with plenty of dining space. Don’t forget to check out the fun bathrooms on your way out. It's also easily accessible for those with disabilities. Definitely worth a visit—go and enjoy!
This is a laid-back spot by the Kentucky River where you can enjoy a salt block grilled sandwich along with a beer, wine, or mixed drink. Additionally, live bands perform here on two weekends each month.
Quite good burgers. Onion rings and fries were good as well. Side salad was better than expected. Good atmosphere and views of the river.
