4.5 stars. Wonderful Sunday Lunch. Attentive and very friendly staff. Forgot to give us water and gave us the wrong bill but that’s not a big deal in comparison. Would absolutely recommend.

Booked lunch for 4 adults, we were given 2 menus one for the restaurant and one bar menu however, we were told we all had to choose from the same menu! Whats the point of that! Annoyed by that, so just give the restaurant menu in the restaurant! Couldn’t mix and match. Excellent eating, comfortable room and friendly but professional staff, all in the heart of rye. What could you ask for?!
The staff without exception were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere in the beautiful building and the quality of the food was superb.
Large menu options with some welcome creative innovation among the more standard options. nicely cooked eating comes, well presented and delivered by friendly efficient staff. we have never been disappointed.
Very disappointing. every year restaurant goes downhill, 3 years ago good menu, good quality, friendly service. this time had booked for skalopps week 2022 (for 4 people) in the internet 1 month before, while restaurant usually full on skallops week. cried 2 days before booking. to make sure that they were scallops, naturally laughed his scallops week. on Sunday 27 feb. surprised to see all empty tables on the menu no scallops only ask the waiter, no scallops they had run out, so went to the reception. since the first question the dame asked if I stay in the hotel what is that mean when I booked the restaurant very unfriendly I was answered what they want to do about it, we have no scallops. we send a message to everyone to mention this. I showed my phone to show that I never received a message or phone call. I was told if I don't like that the menu feels free to eat elsewhere, I was perplexed, no I'm sorry, fall closed. was very unprofessional. I have worked as a restaurant quality controller for tour operators in Europe, so I have never been treated like this, in any of the European countries, so much surprised this very rude answer. from the waiter I had received 3 versions of it, 1 run out, kitchen: last night at 09.00 clock 2 finished, the scallops festival was canceled this year (not after the internet it was not,) 3,With the storm the fisher could not get scallops. only roast or fish and chips. or sandwiches, apparently bar menu has now also become restaurant menu. so could understand empty restaurant. it will never eat again and very embarrassing to take my friends and praise them as good it was. about the presentation that was always good, roast was stacked on a dish, along with a large amount of not even homemade sauce soaks the plate. I had fish chips dry, kayau on the frits, 10 mashy baptized. had not to eat. would have been better in any fish chips store in rye. my friends weren't impressed either. so that means because the name mermaid gas house is not necessary to use quality that is not needed to be friendly or customer service and a restaurant that has no beginner served sandwiches?
We have stopped for lunch, but were disappointed to be offered only to a vegetarian option that does not awaken itself (a butter bean dish). please update and expand their Veggie options. the staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel was nice. a real step back in time.
