The bar was charming and welcoming to dogs, though it was a shame the log fire wasn't lit during my visit. The service was excellent, receiving a rating of 5 out of 5.

We stopped by for lunch last Wednesday, November 15th and had a fantastic meal by the open fire. The deep-fried anchovies were amazing, I could have eaten them twice! The restaurant is conveniently located right on the high street, perfect for a leisurely walk or window shopping. The service and location both receive a 5-star rating. The highlights of the restaurant include its romantic atmosphere, quiet ambiance, and great value.

This is a fantastic restaurant and pub with a cozy log fire and rich history. The food and ale are delicious, and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. We live just five minutes away and will definitely be making this our regular spot. I highly recommend visiting this wonderful establishment - you won't be disappointed!

We absolutely love this restaurant and have visited multiple times over the years. The establishment has a unique charm, consistently delicious food, and friendly staff. Any complaints are minimal and likely unwarranted. For example, it would be better to have more seating near the fireplace during snowy weather, as it is the best spot in the restaurant. Also, some rooms are noisier than others, making it a bit harder to relax. However, overall, it is a fantastic experience and we can't wait to visit again.
