While the ambiance may be a bit rustic, the food shines, with highlights like perfectly cooked sea bass and outstanding steak. Diners praise the welcoming atmosphere and the chef’s willingness to accommodate dietary preferences, ensuring a memorable experience. Some reviews mention inconsistencies, such as an occasional over-salty gravy or an unappealing pizza mishap, but the overall consensus suggests that this pub is a lovely spot for a satisfying meal worth revisiting.
Had a family get together today location is ideal for people travelling from opposite ends of the M4. Excellent lunch we pre ordered, which made everything very smooth, and the food itself was fantastic. Big portions, good variety, high quality. Dogs and toddlers made welcome, as were we all by the friendly service. We'll be back. Maybe at Beltane.
Took my team to the Crown for Christmas lunch and had a amazing time. Great food. Staff amazing and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
This pub is a must an absolute little jem.the atmosphere is amazing so friendly lovely fire not crowded .the land lord of this stunning pub is such a lovely welcoming gentleman. The food is out of this world. Using local product and sourced from there sellers I can not recommend this pub more than I have children are welcome and there is things for them too do while waiting for there food and dog friendly nothing is too much for the staff there
Returned here for the umpteenth time and was not disappointed. Real ales, great food and great service are par for the course here. The warm beef salad is absolutely delicious! Don't bother with the Blue Boar (the only other pub in the village) until they have replaced the insignificant little twerp who currently serves as the landlord there.
After being greeted by a Dalek outside the pub, I went inside and had a lovely meal of sausages and mash. The female member of staff behind the bar on the day was nice, friendly and made me feel welcome. There was a bit of a wait for the food but it was all worth it in the end as it was so good and with a generous portion too. I'd come back here for a meal anytime. A great pub.
