Contribute FeedbackNestled in the picturesque English countryside, this charming farm shop restaurant has garnered mixed feedback from visitors. Many rave about the superb cooked breakfast, highlighting its quality and value, while others have experienced service hiccups, such as delays and unappetizing coffee. The rustic outdoor seating is a draw for some, although others find it less appealing with wandering chickens. Despite occasional service complaints, patrons frequently praise the delicious breakfast options, delightful cakes, and the inviting barn dining experience. With easy parking and a variety of products available, many are eager to return, hopeful for an improved dining experience.
I am having a hard time understanding some of the complaints that have been made. My wife and I dine here often and we find that it delivers exactly what it promises. This restaurant is a great local farm shop that offers delicious breakfasts and sandwiches at a fair price. The staff is attentive and professional.
Oh dear! While the Farm Shop is really good, the tea time experience was rather less so. Tea was spilt on the table from one of several tea pots being served, and not cleared up let alone a clean-up offer made. Then a slice of lemon drizzle cake was tipped off its plate onto the table and grasped by the waiter's hand (iced top and bottom), and replaced without apology, with a look skywards. Again no offer of apology or replacement. Incompetance on this scale doesn't reflect well on those who prepare such lovely pies and cakes. Hopefully our next visit will better reflect the quality of this place.
Very friendly welcome service. Little gem of a place, lovely outdoor area on a warm day. We had a great breakfast excellent value. Will be back!
We stopped here on the way to, and on the way back, from Cornwall. On the way there (approx 9.30am a week ago) service was ok, and pretty quick, although we only offered drinks and a sausage sandwich. The sandwich was ok but the bread wasn’t the quality I’d expect for £6. The sausages were tasty though. It was clean, easy to park and near the main road so decided we’d use it for our last stop on the return journey. Today we got there around 2pm and it was very busy. The person at the counter was pretty abrasive and told us there was a 40 minute wait for food. I can understand being tired and busy, but that’s part and parcel of the service industry. We ordered cakes and coffees instead of waiting for hot food, and neither of us were particularly impressed with either. The coffee was very weak. The Victoria sponge was bland with a very synthetic tasting cream filling. Overall the offering is average, and we’ll try somewhere else next time.
Friendly, professional and quick service. The full english was very tasty, a nice simple version done well with not too much oil! Perfect
